My story
(well, parts of it…)
Hi, I'm Rujuta (Ruj). I'm a certified Ayurvedic Health and Lifestyle Consultant, and I came to this work the long way around.
In my mid-twenties, I was deep in a career in agricultural policy spending my days tracing the connections between how we grow food, the health of the land, and the health of the people living on it. The professional dots were connecting. The personal ones weren't.
I was dealing with anxiety and depressive episodes, and doing what most of us do - trying everything, committing to nothing, feeling guilty about both. The problem wasn't discipline. It was that I didn’t understand my own body. Without that, nothing was ever going to stick.
The frustration eventually became a turning point. I went deep, changed jobs, and found Ayurveda. What it gave me wasn't a strict program. It gave me a framework for understanding myself - how my mind and body actually function, how they respond to the seasons, to food, to rest, to stress. I learned what my particular body needs to feel well, and I learned that this is not the same as what someone else's body needs. That distinction was huge!
With time and dedication, the anxiety lifted, my sleep improved and I felt steadier, clearer, more like myself than I had in years. My relationships got easier. Life, in general, got easier - not because my circumstances changed, but because I understood how to move through them.
What Ayurveda showed me is that good health isn't something you arrive at. Good health - when you can’t help but glow from your smile to your toes - is built through daily choices made with understanding rather than obligation. No superfoods or protein powders required.
Welcome to the Vedic Apothecary. I work with you closely, in a focused and individual way, to help you understand your own body and build the rhythms that will carry you. My goal is that you leave not just feeling better, but knowing exactly how to keep yourself that way.
